Grand Theft Auto V: Release Date

Rockstar has officially announced the release date of its upcoming game, Grand Theft Auto V. Merchandise stating that the game will be released in Spring 2013 is now invalid as Rockstar has confirmed the game is to be delayed until September 17th, 2013 due the game needing "more polish to be of the standard we and, more importantly, you require". Rockstar tells us that this delay is putting the release of Grand Theft Auto V over four months later than originally planned, meaning we were looking at a May release before today's announcement.

Today's announcement by Rockstar has sparked a lot of outrage by fans about the delay, but although the disappointment is big, GTAV promises to be a very complex game and it's only natural that bugs will be found within the game. A delay means that a lot of bugs will be found in the game before the release so we do not have an extremely buggy game when it is released as Rockstar now have more time to test their game and the problem causing the delay is fixed.

This is obviously an unexpected delay as recently GameStop have been giving out new posters of artwork stating "Spring 2013" as the release date with pre-orders, which is now invalid. We are guessing Rockstar has found a serious bug in the game that needs to be fixed or they would not have let fans down by pushing the release date back on one of the most anticipated games of the decade so far.
